It’s just 3 months till Flo’s birthday and we’re bringing back ‘Dear Florence’, seeing as Flo loved it so much last year! To get involved all you have to do is type a letter to Flo starting ‘Dear Florence’ telling her whatever you wish to say, with a 100 word minimum and 500 word maximum. To show off all your talents we also want any FATM inspired art, poems, music, lyrics, tattoos, photography, shrines etc. to go alongside the letters (all optional). We understand over 200 of you did this last year, so if you don’t have anything new to say and can think of something else you can do that would work in the book, let us know. We also send Flo a mixtape, so if you can give us a song to put on to the album Flo can enjoy your favourite songs whilst she reads it! To send us your entry either leave it us as a message on Facebook, or email us at email@example.com, everything will be included in the book. The deadline for entries is the 20th of July, as we need to make sure Flo gets the book on time this year! Please get involved as we want to make this even bigger and better than last year. Thank you!
“I met Florence for the first time end of 2007 and the first time I ever saw her in my life, it was like weird corporate party and I walked into the green room and she was definitely drunk, getting a piggy back off someone in her band, like with a bottle of champagne, screaming. And I thought ‘I like this girl.’… And in the years since she just actually grew up. I wasn’t expecting that, I thought she was a cool kid, one of those people who come and go and then she just smashed it… Now Florence is Florence. She’s cool as fuck as well.” - Calvin Harris
As we approach the end of 2012 we also get close to saying goodbye to the Ceremonials era! It was completely different from Lungs, but still incredible. We look forward to whatever Florence decides to bring us after the band’s break, and we also look forward to updating you on all things FATM throughout 2013. Thank you Flows! x

If you would allow me, I would like to share my personal story about a Florence and the Machine Army. One that rarely ever gets talked about, and that most people don’t even know exists. The Touring Army, the team of crew and production that go out with the band and work around the clock to ensure an awe-inspiring show. I was lucky enough to be a part of it, only if for a night.
I was recently hired by a Brooklyn indie artist as a Sound Engineer and Instrument Tech on a 12-week tour of the US, Europe and the UK. During the pre-production of this tour, many questions came up which led me to research similar situations and bigger tours. I remember first listening to “What the Water Gave Me” and thinking how amazing it was, in every way. It was what I had always wanted to hear from the band. To watch the video, and to get a glimpse at the creative process behind the scenes, instilled so much hope in me, for the future of music and the success of those who truly deserve it. I had always heard how spectacular their live show was, and would often dream about a concert experience as invigorating as this.
♥♥♥Happy Ceremonials day everyone! ♥♥♥
